Real-time voice changer
Press start, talk, and hear yourself as a demon, a robot, a radio pilot or anyone in between. 61 live effects built from twelve pedals, running in your browser with nothing to install.
Loading the effects rack…
The voice changer needs JavaScript and a microphone.
From your mic to Discord in four steps
- Start the rack and allow the microphone. Put headphones on before turning on "Hear myself".
- Pick a voice from the presets, or open a pedal and turn its knobs. Save the ones you like.
- Route it: set "Send to" to a virtual cable such as VB-CABLE or BlackHole.
- Select the cable as your mic in Discord, Zoom, OBS or your game. Full walkthroughs: Discord, Zoom, OBS and Twitch.
More than a voice filter
Soundboard: 24 pads with hotkeys; drop in your own clips or record one. Pads play through the same output, so friends on a call hear them too.
Recorder: capture a clip with the effect baked in, or run an existing audio file through any preset and download a WAV.
Free sound effects: 20 sounds to download as MP3, WAV or Discord-ready clips.
AI voice designer: describe a character in words and get pedal settings for it, or have an AI voice read a line for your soundboard.

What "real-time" takes
A voice changer for live chat has a hard constraint that a video editor does not: it can only use sound you have already made. Every effect here works on a rolling window of a few milliseconds, which is why pitch shifting uses a delay-line method instead of simply speeding audio up. The how it works page lets you watch that happen and see where latency comes from.
For gaming, the practical rules are simple: use wired headphones (Bluetooth adds 150 ms or more), turn off noise suppression in Discord or Zoom so it does not fight the effect, and leave the rack on the Interactive buffer.
Voice changing, fairly
Voice effects are for games, streams, role-play, privacy and jokes among friends. Do not use them to impersonate real people, get around bans, or deceive anyone into giving money or information. The presets are generic styles; none of them clone a specific person's voice.
Questions
Is this voice changer really real-time?
Yes. Effects run in an AudioWorklet inside your browser's audio engine. With wired headphones and the Interactive buffer, the added delay is typically 10–40 ms, depending on your device and whether a pitch effect is on.
Do I need to download anything?
Not for the voice changer itself. To send your changed voice into Discord, Zoom or OBS you need a free virtual audio cable (VB-CABLE on Windows, BlackHole on macOS), because browsers cannot create a microphone device on their own.
Is my voice recorded or uploaded?
No. Microphone audio is processed on your device and never leaves it. Recordings are created in your browser and only saved if you click Download.
Which browsers work?
Current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop, plus Chrome on Android and Safari on iOS. Choosing an output device (to send audio into a virtual cable) currently works in Chrome and Edge.
How many effects are there?
61 presets across gender, character, creature, sci-fi, music, room, device and silly categories, all built from 12 adjustable effect pedals, so you can make your own and save them.
Are voice changers illegal?
Using a voice changer is legal in the US, UK and EU for fun, privacy, gaming and content. What can be illegal is what you do with it: fraud, harassment, threats, or impersonating a real person to deceive someone. Some places also require consent to record calls, voice changer or not.
Are there voice changers that sound real?
Simple effects (pitch, EQ, reverb) are instant but sound processed when pushed far. AI voice conversion can sound more natural but usually needs a powerful GPU or a server round-trip, which adds delay. Small shifts (3–5 semitones) with matching EQ sound most natural here; the Girl Voice and Male Voice presets are tuned for that.
What is the best free voice changer for real-time use?
Desktop apps such as Voicemod (free tier) and Clownfish install a system-wide virtual microphone. A browser voice changer like VoiceFX needs no install and keeps audio on your device, but needs a free virtual cable to reach Discord or Zoom. Try it here first: if the effects suit you, add the cable.
Why can I hear an echo of myself?
Your speakers are feeding back into the microphone. Wear headphones, or turn off "Hear myself" if you only need to send the voice to another app.
